Call Before You Dig

One of the greatest single challenges to safe pipeline operations is the accidental damage caused by excavation, directional drilling, construction, farming activities – or even homeowners digging in their yards. If you are a homeowner, farmer, excavator or developer, we need your help in preventing pipeline emergencies.

Sunoco Pipeline L.P. participates in damage prevention notification programs called a One Call System, which provides a convenient toll-free telephone number for homeowners, farmers, developers and construction crews planning to excavate near a pipeline.   We are a member of a local One-Call System in every area where we operate; the number of each is listed below.

The One Call laws vary by state and have different requirements for the excavator, but most require at least a three-day notification prior to the beginning of excavation activities.  Taking the time to Call Before You Dig, may reduce disruption of service, accidents, injuries, and possible delay of your project.

Always call “811” or your local One-Call system before starting any digging project!   Remember every digging job requires a call whether you are a homeowner or professional excavator – even small projects like planting trees or shrubs or installing a mail box or fence.
